Hi I’m Beccy,
the founder of MAKE&CREATE
As an experienced Primary School Teacher in Thame, who specialised in art and design, running art classes and workshops for children and young people, has been my dream for a long time!
I hope to make my classes an opportunity for children to be really creative, exploring and developing new techniques such as paper mache, printmaking, spray painting, collaging and mixed media to name a few.
I hope to see you soon at one of my MAKE&CREATE sessions.
Please follow us on Instagram or Facebook to see what we're up to.
The MAKE&CREATE studio is located at Lopemede Farm, which is just outside Thame on the B4011 road towards Long Crendon.
You’ll find us in Unit 1 just off the main car-park near Fallow & Fields.
Meet THE TEAM!
EMma
Emma has been passionate about art for as long as she can remember. She studied A Level Art before completing a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, where she developed her love of painting and creative exploration.
After her studies, Emma followed her own artistic path, exhibiting her work in local galleries before building a successful business creating bespoke murals, feature walls and decorative artwork for private clients. Her creativity eventually led her into a career in interior design, where she spent 15 years helping people transform their homes.
A couple of years ago, Emma returned to her first love of painting and is now studying for a Painting degree with the Open University. Since then, she’s been enjoying creating, experimenting and continuing to develop her own artistic practice.
Emma loves sharing her enthusiasm for art with others and believes creativity is for everyone. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced artist, she’ll encourage you to experiment, build your confidence and enjoy the creative process in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
AMalie
Amalie is Beccy’s eldest daughter and has grown up surrounded by creativity, colour and art. She is currently studying Art at GCSE and has always had a natural love for drawing, painting and making.
Alongside her own creative studies, Amalie recently completed her work experience at John Hampden Primary School, where she gained valuable experience supporting children in a busy school environment. She is confident, patient and comfortable working with children of different ages.
Amalie also helps with two of our current weekly children’s art classes, assisting with activities, encouraging the young artists and helping to make each session feel welcoming, relaxed and fun. She loves seeing children develop their ideas, try new techniques and feel proud of what they have created.
With her love of art, music and working with children, Amalie brings a friendly, enthusiastic energy to the studio and is a wonderful part of the MAKE&CREATE team.
chris
Chris is Beccy’s husband and one of the people working behind the scenes to help keep MAKE&CREATE running smoothly.
Having run his own business for more than 20 years, Chris brings plenty of experience in business, technology, customer service and marketing. While his day-to-day world is usually telecoms rather than paintbrushes, he has always had a genuine love of art and music and has been a huge supporter of Beccy’s creative journey from the very beginning.
Although much of his contribution happens behind the scenes, Chris also puts in the occasional shift at children’s classes and workshops whenever an extra pair of hands is needed. He enjoys helping the children with their projects, encouraging their ideas and seeing how differently each young artist approaches the same creative activity.
With a love of art, music, technology and bringing ideas together, Chris helps Beccy turn her creative vision into a growing, welcoming studio for children and adults alike.
